LIVERPOOL MOHAMED SALAH HAS BEEN VOTED UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mohamed Salah has been voted the UEFA Champions League player of the week for his performance at Anfield against Sevilla.
While the 2-2 draw was an ultimately frustrating result for Liverpool, Salah was named into the UCL team of the week yesterday.
That led to a public vote and the flying winger has been rewarded for a strong performance - which included a slightly fortunate goal - by topping the poll.
While Salah played very well at Anfield, there is also the slight suspicion that his feverish support back in Egypt may have been responsible for him leading the way, given it was a week when Lionel Messi scored two against last year's finalists Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo got two on his return from a ban and Harry Kane grabbed a brace against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.

It is not the first time this season that Salah has unexpectedly topped a fans' poll after he scooped Liverpool's goal of the month for August after his breakaway effort against Arsenal.
